A thing I've heard about AI that it's developing very fast is the fact that AI is about to steal our jobs. But is it real a threat to 3D artists?
I had an order to make unique chess figures for one dude (he'll print them), and I used AI bunch of times for doing concepts. But recently I used a 3D AI software 'cause was very busy and couldn't make order before deadline. And here's a thing I'd like to tell you. AI is a good mate, not a change for us. It could help, it could increase quality of our art, but it can't do all goot things solo
I pasted 2 figures for comparison: Knight and Queen. AI did raw and not very quality stl objects that useful only for retopology shadow or sample for modelling (But you still need to fix models in sculpting). AND ALSO! They're really really trashy for 3D-printing. A lot of useless defects that you also need to fix or do retopology
Conclusion: Does AI a big threat? Well, if you are only about to become a junior level 3D-designer - the answer is "Yes". But actually it's not, and IMHo it's a good tool to boost your work
